Monday 8/18 Parking Availability
Tuesday 8/19 Parking Availability
UTA Parking & Transportation will implement a pilot parking program this fall, designed to make it easier for student commuters to find available spaces during peak hours by reducing congestion and improving parking availability near academic buildings during the busiest parts of the day.
What’s Changing?
Beginning fall 2025, student commuters purchasing a permit through MavPark will choose one of three zones—East, South, or West. Parking will be limited to your assigned zone from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Monday–Friday). After 1:00 PM, you may park in any student commuter zone on campus.
Zone Parking Schedule:
- 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Student commuter permit holders may only park in their assigned zone.
- 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM: All student commuter permits are valid in any zone.
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM: All permits are valid in any zone.
How Do I Get My Permit?
When purchasing your 2025–2026 Student Commuter Permit through MavPark:
- Choose Student Commuter Permit.
- Select your preferred zone: South, East, or West.
- Complete your purchase.
*We recommend selecting a zone closest to your first class or the area you visit most often before 1:00 PM.
Why This Change?
This pilot helps ensure more predictable parking availability for commuters, as well as improved traffic flow during morning peak hours. Our goal is to provide more equitable parking experience for student commuters.
Other Permit Options Available
Unsure if the commuter permit is right for you? Consider these alternatives:
- Student Upgrade Permit
Allows parking in reserved student upgrade spaces for more convenience. - Reduced Rate Permit
Lower-cost option with short walking distance to campus. - Remote Park & Ride Permit
Park in remote lots and ride the MavMover Shuttle into campus. Service runs every 12 minutes.
